Here is what you least like to hear from me, when you inquire about a healing:
In order to get out of the pain you are in, you have to feel it. All of it. There is no way around it. You can’t make an omelette without cracking a few eggs.
One of the most common blockages people have is not being able to or not knowing how to feel their pain. And the ones of you reading this, thinking, “I am not sensitive. I don’t really feel emotional,” have it the worst. I hate to break it to you, but you are not tougher than the rest; you’re just better at suppressing. You are human, therefore you feel. Emotions are an inherent system built into us.
There is nothing wrong with you!
You’ve been through something dramatic, and you couldn’t feel all your pain because you were busy surviving. You are also likely associating the feeling with loss of control, because you experienced that you couldn’t make it stop. Plus, this world doesn’t understand emotions yet, and associates them with weakness.
The problem is that not feeling our emotions not only leads us into a world of pain that we cannot describe, but it also blocks any personal growth that we seek.
You are deprived of one of the most sophisticated, built-in intelligence systems that your human body has to offer. This means your emotions control you, not the other way around. Your inability to feel is your brain protecting you from feeling bad. Makes sense, right?
I’ve been there. Until my late 20s, I was so suppressed and numb, I couldn’t even tell you how I felt other than good or bad, if you had asked me. Emotions weren’t a language I was familiar with. I intellectualise everything. It took me years of hard work to learn how to feel again, how to name my emotions and how not to push them away. One of the most terrifying things I’ve done on this healing journey.
The point of a Spirit Consultation is to give you the space to unpack the stories of what happened. It’s a space for you to talk, because in talking, we start opening up and making sense of the experiences. It’s not like therapy, where we just sit and talk. This is an energetic space, energies make you feel something. They are penetrating your field, your body and your psyche. My role is to guide and hold this space. I can see where you are in pain, what has blocked you from feeling. I am going to guide you back into it, and then we are going to find a way to experience that. Not in a way that you are used to. This is controlled, safe, and it has an end to it. Let me show you how easy it is to clear out blocked emotions.
I’ve had a client who didn’t even know how much the childhood trauma made this person always feel overlooked. It was like whatever the client did, it wasn’t good enough. Love always had a price. Until being in service was the only way for the client to feel worthy. The healing was talking about it, having someone witness the pain and understanding where it came from.
Witnessing your own pain can be the bravest and most liberating thing that you can ever experience.
When you can fully and truthfully see what happened to you, it will make sense to you, and there are no blank spaces. This is working through it and integrating it.
Most of your traumas were too big to grasp when they happened, so your psyche did the rest of the work. When we make it tangible, feelable, and real again, we can finish the unfinished story. We fulfil the needs that weren’t met when it happened. It’s closure.
Feeling your feelings is the stepping stone for healing. It’s the first step, not the entire healing. You need to be aware that when you start feeling, you’ll start being more sensitive to them. It’s not a permanent process but a recalibration of your system. It’s like pulling the plug that clogs the sink. It is the bravest and hardest step. But you can do hard things. Trust me, you’re so fucking capable.
Once that passes, you’ll never just be blocked off. If you are going through loss, you can just go through it and come out the other side so much faster. You can also feel the love and empathy others have for you, and you for them.
Healing means you are adjusting the settings, and your experience of life will be so much richer. You’ll see colours, taste things and feel beauty that you only see in movies. You deserve it all, you have suffered enough.
